Not "no phone" — a phone that's normal outside study time and boring during it. Two ways to do it, depending on whether revision follows a routine or is one specific push.
Best if revision happens roughly the same time most days, e.g. every evening after dinner.
Nothing needs to change here — it's what the phone looks like outside study hours.
RevisionSetup → Manage profiles → + Create a new profile. Block social media, games, and anything else that pulls focus. Leave anything genuinely needed for study unblocked — a maths app, a calculator, whatever's actually revision-adjacent.
Toggle on the days revision actually happens, turn off "All day," and set a start and end time — e.g. 16:30 to 19:00. Save, then tap BRICK on Home once to arm it.
From here it repeats on its own every day at those times — nothing to remember once it's set up.
Best for exam season itself, where you want the phone properly out of the way for a stretch rather than a daily routine.
Same as above — block the distracting apps, leave study tools alone.
Turn on "Set profile to default" on the Revision profile. No schedule needed — it's just the phone's normal state until you turn it back.
When exams are over, switch "Set profile to default" back to your everyday profile — or just tap Unbrick with your PIN and second factor if that's easier in the moment.
Tip: hand your second factor to a study partner, sibling, or parent for the exam push. Same trick as a digital detox setup — the point isn't the block itself, it's that undoing it takes a genuine second person, not just your own change of mind at 9pm.
Pick whichever option matches your situation — not both at once.
| Option | Profile | Default? | Blocks | Schedule |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| A — daily routine | Revision | No | Social media, games, anything that pulls focus | Study days, e.g. 16:30–19:00 |
| B — exam push | Revision | Yes (temporarily) | Same as above | None needed — set back to your everyday profile when exams end |
